SmartElex 10D DC Motor Driver HAT for Raspberry Pi | PWM Driver HAT with PWM Speed Control The SmartElex 10D DC Motor Driver HAT is a compact and reliable expansion board designed specifically for Raspberry Pi to control DC motors with precise speed control. It helps users drive motors directly from the Raspberry Pi without complex wiring or external driver circuits, making motor control simpler and safer. This HAT is ideal for students, makers, educators, and engineers who are building robotics or motion-based projects and want a clean, plug-and-play solution. This motor driver HAT is widely used in robotics, automation systems, and prototyping projects where smooth and controlled motor operation is required. With PWM-based speed control and seamless Raspberry Pi compatibility, it allows easy integration into existing projects and code setups. The stable performance and straightforward design make it suitable for classroom learning, DIY robotics, and early-stage product development where reliable motor control is essential. Hardware Overview Features: Designed specifically as a motor driver HAT for Raspberry Pi PWM-based speed control for smooth motor operation Supports both single-signal and dual-signal motor control modes Simple plug-and-play installation on Raspberry Pi GPIO header Ideal for robotics, automation, and motion control projects Reliable performance suitable for education, prototyping, and DIY builds How to Use The SmartElex 10D DC Motor Driver HAT can be controlled in two different ways depending on your project requirements. Using Two Control Signals (Speed and Direction) In this mode, two separate control signals are used. The PWM signal is applied to the PWM pin to control the motor speed, while the DIR pin is used to control the motor direction. This method offers straightforward and precise control, making it ideal for most robotics and automation applications. Using One Control Signal (Combined Speed and Direction) In this mode, only one control signal is required. The PWM pin is connected to a logic high level, and the DIR pin receives the PWM signal. When the PWM duty cycle is 50%, the motor stops. If the duty cycle is below 50%, the motor rotates in one direction, and if it is above 50%, the motor rotates in the opposite direction. The actual rotation direction depends on the motor wiring
