RGB LED (Common Cathode - Clear) (Pack of 10) RGB LED ( Common Cathode - Clear), These LEDs have four pins - Cathode is the longest pin. One for each color and a common cathode. Use this one LED Cathode for three status indicators or pulse width modulation all three and get mixed colors. Note: As of 1/2010, the pins in the datasheet are correctly labeled. Pin 3 is Green and Pin 4 is Blue. Those purchased prior to then will have Blue on Pin 3 and Green on Pin 4. RGB Common Cathode LED makes some beautiful colors with this 10mm tri-color LED with separate red, green and blue LED chips inside! They make a nice indicator, and fun to color-swirl. We like RGB LEDs because they color mix inside instead of appearing as 3 distinct LEDs. To light up a common cathode RGB LED, you will have to connect its common terminal to the negative terminal of the power source. If you want to use these RGB LEDs with your Arduino project, then you will need few components like resistors , jumper wires and breadboard

Can I use these RGB LEDs with Arduino?
Yes, these common cathode RGB LEDs are fully compatible with Arduino. Connect the cathode to GND and each anode to a PWM-capable digital pin via a current-limiting resistor.
What is the pin configuration of this RGB LED?
Longest pin is the common cathode (GND). Pin 1: Red, Pin 2: Cathode, Pin 3: Green, Pin 4: Blue (post-2010 revision).
Do I need resistors to operate these LEDs?
Yes, use 220Ω to 330Ω resistors on each anode pin to limit current and prevent damage to the LED and microcontroller.
Can I mix colors with these LEDs?
Yes, by applying PWM to the red, green, and blue channels, you can create a wide range of mixed colors including white, purple, and cyan.
