A 7V to 30V power supply is required for the module's motor. The digital interface is powered by an onboard voltage regulator that can be set to 5V or 3.3V. The A3967 is a full-featured microstepping motor driver with an integrated transistor. It is intended for use with bipolar stepper motors in full-, half-, quarter-, and eighth-step modes, with output drive capabilities of 30 V and 750 mA. The A3967 comes with a fixed off-time current regulator that can operate in slow, fast, or mixed current-decay modes. This current-decay control scheme produces less audible motor noise, higher step accuracy, and lower power dissipation. The transistor is essential to the A3967's simple implementation. Simply sending one pulse to the STEP input causes the motor to move one step (full, half, quarter, or eighth depending on two logic inputs). It is not necessary to programme phase-sequence tables, high-frequency control lines, or complex interfaces. The A3967 interface is ideal for applications where a complex P is either unavailable or overburdened.
