Monster Motor Driver Shield VNH2SP3014A (Peak 30A) The Monster Moto Shield VNH3SP30 Motor Driver is a more powerful version of our Ardumoto motor driver shield. We replaced the L298 H-bridge with a pair of VNH3SP30 full-bridge motor drivers for this Monster Moto Shield. We've also beefed up the support circuitry so this board is capable of driving a pair of high-current motors! The VIN and motor out are pitched for our 5mm screw terminals (not included), making it easy to connect larger gauge wires. Also, the difference between the standard Arduino Motor shield and Monster Motor shield is the change in the driving IC. In the standard Arduino Motor shield the IC used is L298 H bridge IC which has a current capacity of 1 A which is replaced by the VNH3DP30 chip with a 14A continuous current capacity with heat dissipation devices installed. This motor driver also has a thermal shutdown function possible as the thermal output is provided on the analog pin of Arduino. Note: When using this board in extremely high-demand applications it may be necessary to improve thermal performance with a heat sink or fan and to solder the wires directly to the board instead of using a screw terminal (in addition to the myriad other complications present in a high-current system).   • This is Monster Motor Driver Shield VNH2SP3014A (Peak 30A)
  • Monster Moto Shield VNH2SP30 Motor Driver 14A (Peak 30A) has a single NH3SP30 chip which enables it to drive one DC motor. It has an extremely high current capacity of 14A per channel (peak of 30A for few seconds).
  • The thermal heating is minimal uptill 4 to 5 amps. However it would need thermal dissipation device like heat sink or cooling fan for higher currents.
  • For this monster shield the L298 H-bridge is replaced with a pair of VNH2SP30 full-bridge motor drivers.
