Hall Effect Sensor The RM0435 Sensor is an integrated Hall Effect latched sensor. Holding a magnet near the sensor will cause the output pin to toggle. This makes for a robust presence sensor. A reed sensor also works nicely, but can be limited by the glass encapsulation and size. A Hall Effect sensor is much smaller, but can handle less current than a reed switch.Thanks to its wide operating voltage range and extended choice of temperature range, it is quite suitable for use in automotive, industrial and consumer applications.The device is delivered in a Thin Small Outline Transistor (TSOT) for surface mount process and in a Plastic Single in Line (TO-92 flat) for through hole mount. Both 3-lead packages are RoHS compliant. The output signal of this sensor is open-drain type. Their simplicity makes them popular for toys, gadgets and appliances. This sensors is a solution for where you need detect when something has shifted from it’s desired orientation. It’s a simple ball-in-a-sleeve that when rolled to one end closes a contact. Actually, it’s a pair of balls, the second ball reinforces the bridging of the contacts by the first ball. In it’s simplest application, it could be hung straight down and would close only if it were swung over 90° in any orientation. Hall Effect Sensor Module Hall Effect Sensor Module is used to detect the proximity of a magnet. It is very much smaller in size. When the magnetic field rises above a threshold level, the open-collector output transistor switches on, which pulls the logic-compatible output low and illuminates the onboard LED indicator. It's fast (The turn-on threshold is 35-450 Gauss, the minimum hysteresis is 20 Gauss, and the operating voltage range is 4.5 - 24 volts. This module uses the Allegro MicroSystems A3144EUA sensor. It has a 3-pin interface, signal, V+, and GND. To use this sensor/switch, place a 10K pull-up resistor between the "S" pin and the middle pin (+), and connect the "-" pin to the ground.
