4-bit Bi-directional Shift Register IC - 74HC194 The 74HC Series 74HC194 bidirectional shift register is designed to incorporate virtually all of the features a system designer may want in a shift register; they feature parallel inputs, parallel outputs, right-shift, and left-shift serial inputs, operating-mode-control inputs, and a direct overriding clear line. The register has four distinct modes of operation, namely: Parallel (broadside) load Shift right (in the direction QA toward QD) Shift left (in the direction QD toward QA) Inhibit clock (do nothing) Synchronous parallel loading is accomplished by applying the four bits of data and taking both mode control inputs, S0 and S1, HIGH. The data is loaded into the associated flip-flops and appears at the outputs after the positive transition of the clock input. During loading, serial data flow is inhibited. Shift right is accomplished synchronously with the rising edge of the clock pulse when S0 is HIGH and S1 is LOW. Serial data for this mode is entered at the shift-right data input. When S0 is LOW and S1 is HIGH, data shifts left synchronously and new data is entered at the shift-left serial input. 4-Bit Binary Ripple Counter IC - 74HC93 The 74HC93 are high-speed Si-gate CMOS devices and are pin-compatible with low-power Schottky TTL (LSTTL). They are specified in compliance with JEDEC standard no. 7A. The 74HC Series 74HC93 are 4-bit binary ripple counters. The devices consist of four master-slave flip-flops internally connected to provide a divide-by-two section and a divide-by-eight section. Each section has a separate clock input (CP0 and CP1) to initiate state changes of the counter on the HIGH-to-LOW clock transition. State changes in the Qn outputs do not occur simultaneously because of internal ripple delays. Therefore, decoded output signals are subject to decoding spikes and should not be used for clocks or strobes. check out : 4 Bit Bi-Stable Latch IC - 74HC75 A gated AND asynchronous master reset (MR1 and MR2) is provided which overrides both clocks and resets (clears) all flip-flops. Since the output from the divide-by-two section is not internally connected to the succeeding stages, the device may be operated in various counting modes. In a 4-bit ripple counter, the output Q0 must be connected externally to input CP1. The input count pulses are applied to clock input CP0. Simultaneous frequency divisions of 2, 4, 8, and 16 are performed at the Q0, Q1, Q2, and Q3 outputs as shown in the function table. As a 3-bit ripple counter, the input count pulses are applied to input CP1. Simultaneous frequency divisions of 2, 4, and 8 are available at the Q1, Q2, and Q3 outputs. 4-bit D-type Registers with 3-State Output IC - 74HC173 The 74HC Series 74HC173 is a 4-bit register that includes D-type flip-flops featuring totem-pole 3-state outputs capable of driving highly capacitive or relatively low-impedance loads. The high-impedance third state and increased high-logic-level drive provide these flip-flops with the capability of being connected directly to and driving the bus lines in a bus-organized system without the need for interface or pull-up components. Up to 128 of the 74LS173 outputs can be connected to a common bus and still drive two Series 74LS TTL normalized loads, respectively. To minimize the possibility that two outputs will attempt to take a common bus to opposite logic levels, the output control circuitry is designed so that the average output disable times are shorter than the average output enable times. Gated enable inputs are provided on these devices for controlling the entry of data into the flip-flops. When both data-enable (G1, G2) inputs are low, data at the D inputs are loaded into their respective flip-flops on the next positive transition of the buffered clock input. Gate output-control (M, N) inputs also are provided. When both are low, the normal logic states (high or low levels) of the four outputs are available for driving the loads or bus lines. The outputs are disabled independently from the level of the clock by a high logic level at either output-control input. The outputs then present a high impedance and neither load nor drive the bus line. Detailed operation is given in the function table. The 74LS173 is characterized for operation from 0°C to 70°C. 4-Line to 16-Line Decoder/Demultiplexer IC - 74HC154 This is the 74HC Series 74HC154 IC, Each of these 4-line-to-16-line decoders IC utilizes TTL circuitry to decode four binary-coded inputs into one of sixteen mutually exclusive outputs when both the strobe inputs, G1 and G2, are LOW. The demultiplexing function is performed by using the 4 input lines to address the output line, passing data from one of the strobe inputs with the other strobe input LOW.
